Meetings and Events
Gunnison TU Chapter meetings are open to all chapter members and the community. We especially welcome new members and those interested in getting involved with TU. All chapter meetings are held at the Almont Resort and start at 6:30 PM unless otherwise noted. Some members may arrive by around 6 PM for dinner. All are welcome to join us for some food and drink prior to the meetings.

May 7 to May 9 - Arkansas River GAS Trout Unlimited Fishing Trip
At Bighorn Park campground and RV park.
Join us for some fun walk/wade and float fishing on the Arkansas River.
Contact Mark Day if you plan to go. Call (719) 942-4266 to make your reservations, and tell them you are with the Gunnison Trout Unlimited party to get a 10% discount. -

Part 2: The Hidden Gems Wilderness Campaign - Proposed wilderness areas in Gunnison County will be presented by Laura Yale from Hidden Gems. -
June 8 - Chapter Meeting

Monthly Chapter Meeting - Program: "The Impact of Mines on Trout Rivers"
First presenter: John Norton from Red Lady Coalition will discuss impacts of mining operations on Mt. Emmons on insect life and trout in Ohio Creek, the East River, and the Gunnison River.
Second presenter: Anthony Poponi from Coal Creek Watershed Coalition will present historical data related to the impact of mining on the Coal Creek watershed.
Third presenter: In addition to the presentations on mines, we'll also have Andrew Breibart, Hydrologist from the BLM Gunnison Field Office, who will discuss two projects planned for the Lake Fork this year. He would also like to learn about critical streams for trout on BLM lands in the Gunnison River watershed.

June 6 to 11 - Colorado TU Youth Conservation and Flyfishing Camp
The 5th annual CTU youth camp will be held at the Beaver Run Trout Ranch near Aspen. Visit the CTU web site for details.
